This first photo was taken a few months ago, when my mother was still healthy, smiling, and taking care of us like she always did. What she looks like now is unrecognizable. 💔
My name is Christopher, and I'm writing this from Uganda with a pain I can't even explain. I am the oldest son of my mother, Nora, and I feel like I am watching her disappear in front of me… and I can't do anything to stop it.
It started as something small. Just a wound on her face that we thought would heal. But it didn't. It kept growing. Slowly at first… and then faster and faster, until in a couple of months it became something we could no longer ignore.
Now, that cancer is eating away at her face.
The pain she feels every single day is unbearable. The wound is open, it bleeds constantly, and we don't even have proper medical supplies to clean it. We use old cloths just to try and help her. Sometimes the infection gets worse, and she just sits there… suffering in silence.
She can no longer eat properly. Even trying to swallow causes her extreme pain. Most days, she barely eats anything at all. Her body is getting weaker, thinner… and I can see that she is slowly losing the strength to keep fighting.
There are moments when she tries to speak, but she can't. The tumor has taken so much from her already. She spends most of her time lying down, unable to move, unable to live the life she once had.
My mother is a single mother of seven children. After my father passed away, she carried everything on her own. She worked every day just to make sure we had something to eat. She was strong for all of us. She was everything.
And now… she is the one who needs us.
We live in very poor conditions here in Uganda. We don't have access to proper healthcare, and we have no money for treatment. There are days when we don't even have food. We are completely alone in this.
We recently went to a hospital, and the doctors told us the truth we were afraid to hear. The cancer is aggressive and spreading fast. Without urgent surgery to remove the tumor, she may not survive.
There is a chance to save her… but we cannot afford it.
The surgery she needs is not only to remove the cancer, but also to reconstruct her face so she can live without this constant pain and suffering. But for us, it is impossible to pay for it alone.
Every day I wake up scared that it might be the day I lose my mother. Every day I see her getting worse. And every day, I feel more helpless.
Please… if you are reading this, I am begging you. Don't look away.
Any donation, no matter how small, can help save my mother's life. The money will go toward her surgery, medical care, medication, and basic needs for our family while we fight to keep her alive.
I don't want to lose my mother. We still need her.
Please help us save her. Donate now. 💔
