Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026 4 min read

1. Purpose and scope

Free Hearts Foundation exists to connect people who want to help with those who need it most: vulnerable individuals and families, people facing medical emergencies, and communities affected by disasters, including efforts to build and rebuild homes.

This Policy explains, in plain terms, how we expect the platform to be used. It applies to everyone who visits the site, creates or organizes campaigns, makes donations, posts messages or interacts with any content available here.

This Policy supplements our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. It does not constitute legal advice.

2. Permitted uses

You may use the platform to create and share legitimate humanitarian assistance campaigns; raise funds for medical treatment, basic needs, disaster recovery and housing; donate to and share campaigns; and post respectful messages of support.

Organizers may act on their own behalf or on behalf of another person, family or community, provided they are authorized to do so and act in the best interest of the people who will benefit.

3. Prohibited conduct and campaigns

You may not use the platform for:

β€’ Fraud or scams, including fictitious campaigns, fundraising for needs that do not exist, or diverting donations.

β€’ False identity: impersonating another person, organization or representative without authorization.

β€’ Misleading information: exaggerating, inventing or omitting material facts about the situation, the amounts needed or how funds will be used.

β€’ Exploiting or exposing beneficiaries without consent, especially children, people who are ill, victims of violence or people in situations of extreme vulnerability.

β€’ Hate speech, discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other characteristic.

β€’ Promoting, inciting or glorifying violence, terrorism or self-harm.

β€’ Funding or facilitating illegal activities.

β€’ Posting abusive, sexually explicit, threatening or degrading content.

β€’ Violating the rights of others, such as privacy, image rights, intellectual property or copyright.

β€’ Misusing the personal data of donors, beneficiaries or other users.

β€’ Sending spam, unsolicited bulk messages or misleading chain messages.

β€’ Attempting to compromise the platform: breaking into accounts, exploiting vulnerabilities, distributing malicious code, automating abusive access or interfering with the site's operation.

4. Honesty, transparency and use of funds

Anyone who organizes a campaign must tell the truth. The information presented β€” story, photos, amounts and purpose β€” must be accurate and kept up to date whenever the situation changes.

Funds raised must be used for the stated purpose. If the plan changes materially (for example, the need has been met in another way), the organizer should communicate this clearly to supporters.

Donors trust every word that is published. Preserving that trust is the responsibility of everyone who uses the platform.

5. Data protection and dignity

Behind every campaign there are real people. Share only what is needed to tell the story, and avoid exposing sensitive information β€” such as documents, detailed diagnoses, addresses or information about minors β€” unnecessarily or without consent.

Images and stories must respect the dignity of beneficiaries. Whenever possible, obtain permission from the people who appear in photos or from their legal guardians.

Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Moderation, review and actions

We may review campaigns, messages and accounts when there are signs that this Policy has been violated or when we receive reports.

Depending on the severity of the case and applicable law, we may request corrections or additional information, hide content, suspend or close campaigns, restrict or remove accounts and, where appropriate, notify the competent authorities.

These actions are intended to protect beneficiaries, donors and the integrity of the platform, and are assessed case by case.

7. Appeals

If you believe an action taken regarding your campaign, content or account was a mistake, you can request a new review through our Contact page. Describe what happened and include any information that helps clarify the situation.

8. How to report content

If you come across a campaign, message or behavior that appears to violate this Policy, let us know through our Contact page. Whenever possible, include the link to the campaign and explain the reason for your concern.

Reports made in good faith help us keep the platform safe for everyone.

9. Updates and effective date

This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the platform, our practices or the law. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.

The version published on this page is in effect from the date indicated.
