On August 10th, our lives changed completely when my 12-year-old son, Jayvion, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). What started as a frightening health concern quickly became a diagnosis no parent ever wants to hear.
He is now in the hospital receiving treatment and chemotherapy, and we know we will be here for quite some time. How long his hospital stay will be depends on his upcoming test results and how his body responds to treatment, but there is a possibility that we could be facing a much longer journey than we initially expected.
Right now, my entire focus is being by my son’s side, advocating for him, comforting him, and helping him through one of the hardest battles of his life. At the same time, I have my daughter at home who still needs me, and I have to make sure she is cared for and supported while I am spending so much time at the hospital. I am also trying to take care of myself enough to be strong for both of my children.

This has brought unexpected financial challenges with hospital stays, food, travel, household bills, and everyday expenses continuing while our lives are centered around Jayvion’s treatment.
I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this, but right now, we truly need our community. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean more to us than I can put into words. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing our story, sending prayers, and keeping Jayvion in your thoughts would mean just as much.

We are taking this one day at a time and praying for good test results, successful treatment, and most importantly, for my son to come home healthy.
Thank you for standing with Jayvion and our family during this incredibly difficult time
